Davao is a highly urbanized city in the Island of Mindanao, Philippines. It has an estimated population of 1, 632,991 and own the largest city in the Philippines in terms of land area. The city is also the third most populous city in the Philippines after Quezon City and Manila, the most populous city in the country outside Metro Manila and the most populous in Mindanao. It has its nickname “king city of the South”, “Crown Jewel of Mindanao”, “Durian Capital of the Philippines”, and” fruit basket of the Philippines”.
Most of the regions inhabitants speak Cebuano language. Tagalog and English are also spoken in Schools, business, commerce and industry. The majority of the region’s populations are Christians, mostly Catholics and there are also Muslims and Buddhists in the region.

The region’s economy is predominantly agri-based but now starting to develop center for agro-industrial business, trade and tourism. Its competitive advantage is in agri-industry as its products, papayas, mangoes, bananas, pineapples, fresh asparagus, flowers, and fish products are exported internationally.
