Cebu is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas (Region VII). It consists of a main Island and 167 surrounding island and islets. The Cebu international port is the largest shipping hub in the visayas region. Cebu City is a significant cultural center in the Philippines. The imprint of Spanish and Roman Catholic culture is evident. There are also many historical sites all over the province.
The Sinulog festival is the most awaited popular event in Cebu every third Sunday of January. It is the largest fiesta in the Philippine culture. It commemorates the Child Jesus, the Lord and the protector in Cebu. The Sinulog is a dance ritual of pre-Hispanic indigenous origin.
